When thinking back on Bailey and Nick’s wedding day at Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm my heart flutters. Within minutes of our initial phone call Bailey and I hit it off and I knew they was something special. Each time we got together it confirmed just that. After taking their engagement photos at their family’s home in Lake Chelan, we became quick friends. Celebrating their sunflower field summer wedding day with them as their wedding photographer turned friend was just so special!

Sunflower Field Summer Wedding

Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm isn’t usually a wedding venue. Nick grew up working at the farm and grew close with the amazing owners. They transformed this farm into a stunning backdrop for Bailey and Nick’s sunflower field wedding day! Bailey’s favorite flower is the sunflower so they planted thousands of seeds to decorate the fields as the perfect ceremony and reception backdrop. It was truly epic!

Getting Ready Time

One of my favorite parts of the day was how Bailey and Nick choose to spend their time before the events began. Bailey had quality time with her girls in the house, getting ready and doing an epic first look for her bridesmaids. Nick and his groomsman got ready and headed to the little lake to drink a beer and throw in the fishing line to shake off those wedding day gitters! It was so fun for them to do what they loved on a farm that was so special to them!

Heading to the Wedding!

After their private, tearful first look they read personal vows to each other. Many couples choose to go this route on their wedding day, as it gives time to be alone together to soak it all in. After everyone was ready and guests arrived it was time to get to the ceremony. To transport their wedding guests to the ceremony site they had huge wagons to ride them down! It was so fun to experience the farm from the wagon, guests loved it! Once everyone was seated and the ceremony began I was instantly holding back tears. Seeing these two and hearing their backgrounds helped me understand the significance of this day for them. They had been together for 8 years and were finally having their sunflower field wedding of their dreams.

Party Time!

Did this crew know how to party! From the sweet first dances, yummy cake cutting and dance floor props they had a blast! Before the end of the night I snuck Bailey and Nick away to grab some sunset photos in the sunflower fields. These turned out to be some of my favorite photos from the day. It was so special to capture these in a place thats so special and significant for them on the best day. Before we knew it they were riding off to their happily ever after in their getaway car. A sunflower field summer wedding day to remember!
