Eloping is a great way to celebrate your love in an intimate and meaningful way. Whether you’re eloping in the city you moved to together, the spot of your first date, or a new place you’ve been wanting to explore, there are plenty of ways to make your wedding special and unique. Here are some tips for making your Boston elopement one-of-a-kind!

Choose a Meaningful Location for Your Boston Elopement

The location of your elopement can be incredibly meaningful! Consider choosing a spot that has special significance for you as a couple. This could be the place where you had your first date or the city where you first met! Having a meaningful location for your elopement will add so much intimacy to your special day. You can look back on the memories you made and look forward to the new ones you’re making!

But if you are more of an adventurous couple who likes the fun and mystery of the unknown consider eloping in a new place that neither of you has ever been before but you’ve always wanted to go! Make new memories together in an entirely new location!

As your wedding and elopement photographer, I’m here to not only capture your love and connection as naturally as possible but to provide you with insight on the best locations for your wedding especially if you decide to elope in Washington!

Alyssa and Kyle chose to elope in the city of Boston as it was sentimental to them! Boston is a great place to elope for many reasons. It has a rich history, vibrant culture, and plenty of romantic spots to choose from!

Additionally, the city is home to some of the best restaurants in the country, making it easy to find a romantic spot for your special day. One of the main reasons why Alyssa and Kyle chose to elope here! Boston is also full of history and culture, making it an ideal backdrop for your elopement. Whether you’re looking for a traditional ceremony or something more unique, downtown Boston has something for everyone!

Get Ready Together

Getting ready together is a great way to start off your wedding day on the right foot! You’re about to spend the rest of your lives together so why not begin your special day side by side? Take some time to get dressed up together and enjoy each other’s company before heading out for the ceremony. A lot of couples opt for a first look instead but getting ready together has a lot of its own benefits!

Getting ready together can help take those wedding nerves away and is a great opportunity to take photos of the two of you getting ready before the ceremony! Getting ready photos may be one of my favorite times to capture photos as you can feel the anticipation and excitement as the newlyweds are getting dressed in their wedding attire. It’s so cute watching the bride and groom help get dressed whether it be the bride tying the groom’s tie or the groom zipping up the bride’s wedding dress. These candid moments create some of the most memorable ones!

Exchange Personalized Gifts

Exchanging personalized gifts is another great way to make your wedding special and unique! Consider giving each other something that has special meaning for both of you – whether it’s something handmade or something purchased from a store! This is a fun reminder of how much you mean to each other.

Stop for Your Favorite Food or Dessert

Take some time during your wedding to stop for your favorite food or dessert. Whether it’s a sweet treat from Bovas Bakery, a slice of pizza from Regina Pizza, or something else entirely, this is a great way to add some extra flavor (literally!) to your special day. Plus, it’s always nice to take a break from all the wedding planning and just enjoy each other’s company over a delicious meal or snack!

Go To Your Favorite Bar

After the ceremony, why not head over to your favorite bar? This is a great way to celebrate with friends and family who couldn’t make it to the ceremony itself! Plus, it gives an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the newlyweds and spend quality time together!

Here are some of the best bars in the Boston area:

  • The Hawthorne – Located in Kenmore Square, The Hawthorne offers craft cocktails and an extensive beer list! With its cozy atmosphere and knowledgeable bartenders, it’s a great spot to celebrate your special day!
  • Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar – This lively Mexican-inspired bar is located in the heart of the Back Bay. Enjoy delicious margaritas and tacos while you take in the festive atmosphere!
  • The Tip Tap Room – This gastropub in Beacon Hill has something for everyone, from craft beers to creative cocktails and delicious food. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy your evening together!

No matter which bars you choose, you’re sure to have a wonderful time celebrating your elopement in Boston!

Have an Adventure Elopement

If you’re feeling adventurous, why not plan an activity for after the ceremony? This could be anything from going on a hike or taking a boat ride around the lake, to exploring a nearby town or visiting an amusement park. Whatever activity you choose, it will be sure to make your wedding even more memorable!

Remember to Be Silly and Be You!

Elopements are all about you and what you want the day to be! If you want to run around and dance in the city streets while singing to your heart’s content with your partner then do it! If you want to elope at a lake and jump in the water in your wedding dress DO IT!! Be adventurous and let your inner child come out to play! It’s your elopement day so do whatever you want!
