Romantic Rainy Elopement Photoshoot

When I tell you this is one of my favorite shoots to date, I mean it. It was such a labor of love from all the vendors who were apart of this shoot. This romantic rainy elopement photoshoot was on the calendar for months. I started planning this dreamy shoot with Victoria from Soon to Be Events. The week of the shoot we were watching the weather forecast and it wasn’t looking good. The day before we changed locations to an indoor studio (Studio on 212th) which ended up being the perfect backdrop for this romantic rainy elopement photoshoot. I’m so excited to introduce you to the wonderful team that brought it all to life and tell you a bit more of how this all came to be!

Let the Planning Begin

While dreaming up this photoshoot I wanted to dive into a super romantic and earthy feel. Victoria took this idea and had all the connections to build the best vendor team possible! She is the lead owner of Soon the Be Events and has been in the event planning space for over a decade. Working with such a professional planner made this photoshoot run so smooth from start to finish.

Like I mentioned the day before we made the call to switch venues. This was no easy decision and Victoria was so on top of it! Calling everyone, readjusting and taking charge to still make it all happen. Studios make wonderful venues for smaller weddings and elopements. You can rent them for the day or by the hour. They are wonderful options if you’re wanting something short and sweet.

Hiring a planner for your wedding day will truly make all the difference in keeping your day running smoothly. Without someone to put out the little fires and make last minute calls all that chaos will land on you. Reach out to Victoria here to start chatting about planning if you’re in the process now!

The Rainy Day Set Up

Once we all arrived to the studio we began set up and watched this romantic rainy elopement shoot come to life! Our florist, Sarah with Merritt Floral, began working her magic. She delivered the soft, natural floral displays of my dreams. The fireplace covered in these stunning floral designs made the perfect set up for this shoot. Set up with the candles and adorning the tables really brought this space and feeling to life.

Being the floral loving gal that I am I can’t stress enough how much flowers can add to your wedding or elopement. Having a professional florist who has the knowledge and expertise in floral design will ensure you’ll have the best flowers and design to match your vision. Depending on the season of your wedding or elopement they can guide you through what will be in season and be best for your needs. Sarah was so helpful and talented, connect with Merritt Floral here for all your flower needs!

Time to Beautify

Our wonderful models Sophia and Etuate arrived and began the getting ready process. We had Kenzie Grace and Natalie Thompson on hair and makeup! I’ve worked with both of these beauties before and love seeing them every chance I get! They both have a way of making people in their chairs feel so welcomed and comfortable while getting them ready. Kenzie actually did my wedding day makeup! She did such a beautiful soft lilac glam which really matched the overall color scheme perfectly! Natalie did a romantic updo for Sophia too that showed off all her features. The whole look really came together for this romantic rainy elopement photoshoot!

Having a hair and makeup artist for your big day can help take off the pressure. You don’t want to feel rushed to do your own or relying on a friend to do it for you when they could be enjoying the day with you. I highly suggest doing a makeup and hair trial before your big day though! This gives you and your artists a chance to talk in depth about what you’re wanting, try it out and make and changes you want before your big day! Reach out to Kenzie here for makeup and Natalie here for hair, they’re the best of the best!

All About the Outfits

When it came to the outfits for this shoot we had a gorgeous pearl dress with puff sleeves from Revive Yo Soul for Sophia! We loved this dress for so many reasons but thought the pearl and puff sleeve detailing was unique and all things romantic. For Etuate we wanted to stay in the soft neutrals so we got him a tan suit from Top Tier Tux. They had so many options for tux and suit rentals it was a tough decision! But we loved how classic and romantic the tan was. The satin floral detail on the bowtie too really added the perfect touch to his look!

We can’t forget about the jewelry! T. Anthony Jewelers were so kind to offer us a stunning set for both Sophia and Etuate for this shoot. These pieces offered the perfect sparkle to highlight the love we were capturing. It was so nice working with them on this shoot and having the opportunity to photograph their stunning pieces. If you’re looking for beautiful jewelry pieces browse T. Anthony Jewlers!

Romantic Reception Table of My Dreams

When it came time to putting together the reception table everyone was hands on deck. All the rentals were from Timeless Rentals and Noble Event Rentals. The linens were from BBJ La Tavola and the stationary was done by June Press. I love using stationary elements like the invitation suite or place cards for flat lay details too! The stationary plus, florals and jewelry all make a wonderful representation of your day in a flat lay photo.

Each one of these vendors brought such expertise and artistic flair to bring this table together. Kenna Giuzio Cake were the perfect personal sized deserts for guests too. Look at these works of art! We were all blown away by the detail on these delicious creations!

Romantic Rainy Elopement Photos

Once all the vendors had their pieces added, the models were made up and dressed, it was time to see it all come to life! I was lucky enough to work along side Seasons Videography. He was so fun to work with and to bounce ideas off of. Please check out his video too from this shoot!

We had the best time guiding Sophia and Etuate through this shoot, showing off not only them but all the elements brought together for this shoot. We continued on inside the studio before heading outside to get a few shots on the pond. It was still raining but we thought it’d be the perfect scene for a romantic boat ride. We all had the best time getting them out there and laughing through this romantic rainy elopement photoshoot.
