Spring Wedding at Pine Creek Nursery

Reece and Maddox had such a beautiful wedding day at Pine Creek Nursery! While they faced some unexpected weather challenges these two made the most of it and had such an amazing support system around them to make it extra special. When Reece reached out to me about her May wedding we instantly connected. We got on the phone and chatted for so long like we’d known each other for years. It was a special connection from the get go. And hearing they were having a spring wedding at Pine Creek Nursery got me even more excited. This was a venue I’d had on my dream venue list for years and I was so happy to be working there with this dream couple!

Getting Ready

Both Reece and Maddox had larger wedding parties which made for a super fun getting ready experience. The bride and her bridesmaids got ready upstairs in the bridal suite. When I got there you could feel the excited, giddy energy radiating off them all. We took a few getting ready photos of them snuggled on the couch and final touches of hair and makeup before Reece got into her dress!

Maddox and the boys were hanging out downstairs, playing music, tying ties and having fun while waiting for the festivities to begin. This was when everyone was running around trying to figure out what to do about the weather. The couple had dreamed of an outdoor ceremony and reception. With the rain coming in they moved all the tables inside and it turned out great! It’s so important to book a venue with indoor and outdoor options just in case! Luckily the rain took a break right before the ceremony and they were able to have their dreamy ceremony out on the lawn. It was a very PNW spring wedding at Pine Creek Nursery. 

Ceremony

Pine Creek Nursery is a beautiful garden wedding venue with rustic charm. The gardens and lawns, even the pond, are perfect backdrops for your wedding day or photoshoot. Reece and Maddox connected immediately with the owners and fell in love with the property so it was an easy choice for them to book this venue. They really loved the idea of having their ceremony outside on the lawn in front of the pond and it worked out perfectly! 

They also decided to do their first look at the ceremony. So as Reece walked down the aisle, Maddox saw his bride for the first time that day. It was such a sweet moment filled with lots of emotions. Reece’s mom started off the ceremony giving a bit of a background to Reece and Maddox and their relationship. I really loved this because it was unique to hear a parents perspective on their relationship and how they all ended up here. It was a wonderful way to include a family member and made the ceremony extra special. 

Portraits

One of the first things I learned about Reece on our initial phone call was that she’s also a photographer! I always love connecting and working with other photographers, especially on their wedding days. I know how hard it can be to trust another photographer for your big day so I felt extra honored she was so excited to work with me! One thing she was super clear on was how important portraits were to her. So after the ceremony we took all the portraits with family, making sure we got all combos. She had a special idea of getting her mom, grandma, and sister who were married together for a photo of all their rings together. It was a stunning picture I’m so glad we got! 

Next on the portrait list was wedding party! When I tell you they had such a fun and energetic wedding party I mean it! They had 18 people total in their party and they all showered them with so much love and excitement. We had lots of fun for their portraits out on the upper lawn. I love witnessing my couples be surrounded by so much love and support on their big days. 

Last but certainly not least I took Reece and Maddox on their own for bride and groom portraits. We started on the lawns, heading back to their ceremony site where they had a gorgeous alter. The pond is so pretty and captured the PNW weather so well I wanted a few wider shots there. With it being a spring wedding at Pine Creek Nursery we couldn’t miss out on the farms gardens so we ventured there to explore all the flowers! The little gazebo structure at the front of the garden made for the perfect frame. You all know how much I love flowers and gardens. so seeing these photos come to life surrounded by this lush garden had me so overjoyed! 

Reception

Welcoming in the wedding party and our bride and groom was a hoot! Each pairing came in with a little move which got everyone energized for Reece and Maddox to enter. Dinner was served and speeches began. Parents, siblings, and wedding party members made heartfelt speeches that gave such great insight into who Reece and Maddox truly are. They were so sweet and emotional, there were so many tears shed. A perfect way to kick off the rest of the party!

The night continued on with first dances, cake cutting and dancing the night away with all their guests. Their send off was super special too. First they rocked sweat sets which is just genius! Get out of the fancy fits and get comfy! Their parents had a super thoughtful plan to give leis to each other and Reece and Maddox as they began their exit. This brought me to tears. Seeing both sets of parents not only honoring their children and this new chapter but showing each other love to celebrate both families joining. Ah I love sentimental moments like this. 

Final Thoughts on this Spring Wedding

Reece and Maddox had a spring wedding at Pine Creek Nursery that was just a dream to be apart of. I’m so thankful they trusted me with their big day. Getting to work with them at a dream venue was so special! Now getting to connect with them over newlywed life and photography is such a gift!
