Country Colorado Wedding Day
Madi and Nick flew me out to Colorado for their country Colorado wedding day! I had photographed Madi’s brother’s wedding back in 2021 so it was so special to capture her day too and see all their friends and family again. With personalized country style touches this classic Colorado wedding was one for the books!
The Bride and Groom
Madi and Nick met on bumble and instantly connected. After their first date they spent every day together for a week straight and that was it for them. They were both so confident in what they had from the start. When I asked about their relationship Madi said “We both came from places, not looking for much, but found everything in each other.” Are you kidding, how sweet! Nick proposed over 4th of July on the Oregon Coast while watching the sunset. They have been through it all together and were just so excited to start their forever as husband and wife. Their giddy love was contagious!
Personal Touches
When we first arrived we made our rounds saying hi to Madi and Nick and then worked on detail shots. Look at how personalized all these items were! From the shoes to rings and paper details, they were so thought out and fit the classy country wedding vibes perfectly. One thing Madi and Nick talk about often is how their love is “forever and ever” so she got them on a pair of socks to wear on the wedding day. How cute! Other personalized parts of their day included a motorcycle wedding entrance, a candy desert bar and a cigar bar at the reception!
Getting Ready
Madi and Nick had their own getting ready quarters. Both were surrounded by their wedding parties and they took their time relaxing and getting ready. They wrote their vows in their vow books (more like copied them over, I don’t recommend writing your vows the day of your wedding!). They exchanged wedding gifts too which made for a super sweet moment in both of their getting ready rooms. Madi had her mom and bridesmaids help her get in her gorgeous gown with a removable skirt which later made for an epic second wedding day look.
Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was officiated by Nicks Aunt. Madi’s brothers walked her down the aisle and Nick saw her for the first time that day in that moment. They choose to skip a first look and share that moment at their ceremony. Before sealing the deal they exchanged their vows and did a unity whisky shot! That was a super fun element to their wedding ceremony that everyone loved. They said “I Do” and walked back down the aisle through a petal toss, my favorite!
Dress Change Surprise
One thing Madi was so excited about from the get go was her wedding dress. This stunning number had a removable skirt overlay. So for the ceremony and family photos she had the ballgown skirt on. After photos she took it off and surprised Nick with a dress change reveal! It was epic! Nick was ready for their motorcycle grand entrance to the reception and she stepped out and it was like a whole other first look. What a fun way to spice up your wedding day!
Grand Entrance
Madi and Nick rode to their reception on their motorcycle. Everyone LOVED this! Another special element to them that they included in their big day. Everyone near the reception was cheering and taking photos of them as they came in. Before dinner we snuck away for a few golden hour photos and then they made their way in for dinner. Each member of the wedding party had a fun grand exit finishing with the new bride and groom! Madi and Nick made a quick thank you speech where Madi thanked herself for all her hard work and planning (WELL DESERVED) and the crowd went wild! Such a fun group of people with so much love for the newlyweds!
Sweet First Dances
Leading to the dance floor they did a sparkler light entrance! I love that they did this going from dinner to dancing, that way everyone is still there and excited to get the party started. Sometimes waiting until the end of the night for a grand exit can lead to a sparse crowd as some go home early. They first shared a first dance and then lead into dances with very special people in their lives. Madi lost her father a few years before and emotions were high throughout the whole day but especially during these special moments. It was a gift to see Madi and Nick both have so many people giving them so much love.
Party Time
Now did this group know how to party! They were out there line dancing, spinning around and singing their hearts out! The country Colorado wedding playlist was cranked up and the dance floor was popping all night. They did a garter and bouquet toss and kept the energy high all night!
Final Thoughts
It’s always so special to work with a family again and again. Being able to travel for Madi and Nicks big day was incredible. I left feeling so honored and humbled to be part of such special moments. I never take this job lightly!
