Your Bridgerton Inspired Wedding Day How To
Dear gentle readers, welcome to my favorite blog post thus far! If you found your way here, you’ve probably seen Bridgerton and may be just as obsessed as I am. While season 3 of Bridgerton just premiered, it’s leaving me thinking of all the regency era touches that could be incorporated into a wedding day. Whether you’re newly off the marriage mart and planning your big day or you’ve already tied the knot and are just a Bridgerton fan, I’ve got all the inspo for you. I had the pleasure of shooting at Albee’s Garden Parties in Olympia Washington with a wonderful vendor team that brought a Bridgerton Inspired Wedding look to life!
A Venue Worthy of the Ton
To set the stage for a perfect Bridgerton inspired wedding day, you need a special venue. Wedding venues set the tones for how your day will look and feel. We were at the stunning Albee’s Garden Parties in Olympia Washington. The garden grounds here were grand yet secluded providing a nice and intimate backdrop for any wedding day. With different areas for ceremony and reception, the options were endless here. They are able to cater up to 200 guests outside and 40 inside. Which is perfect for people looking for an intimate garden gathering or a full party inviting everyone and their mamas. Albee’s provides kitchen space, tables, chairs, linens and more to make your celebration even easier. Choosing Albee’s Garden Parties with their abundance of greenery will evoke the feeling of a grand Bridgerton ball.
Dressing Like Regency Royalty
When thinking about dresses a ball gown with a cinched waist and a flowing skirt is quintessential Bridgerton. Think opulent fabrics like silk or satin, adorned with delicate lace, embroidery or floral details. Don’t forget the statement sleeves (puffy, ruffled, or off-the-shoulder) for a touch of drama. This masterpiece of a dress from I Do Bridal In Seattle was the perfect fit to match this Bridgerton Inspired Wedding shoot. The sleeves, the train, the floral print! Ah it had me speechless! If you’re looking for suits, a tailored suit with a cravat or a luxurious waistcoat can give that sharp regency look.
A Feast for the Senses
Food presentation is just as important as the taste in a Bridgerton-inspired wedding. Opt for a multi-course sit-down dinner with elegant table settings. Think canapés served on tiered platters, a beautifully decorated wedding cake, and of course, overflowing flutes of champagne for toasts. Here we had wonderfully made deserts and treats on display that matched the Bridgerton vibes perfectly wouldn’t you say?
Decor that Speaks of Elegance
Transport your guests to a bygone era with thoughtful decor. Lush floral arrangements in pastel colors – think roses, peonies, and hydrangeas – are a must. These pastel florals by Little Joys Fleurs were stunning and truly brought the Bridgerton beauty to this shoot. Candelabras and string lights draped across the venue will add a touch of romantic ambiance. Having a talented planner or wedding coordinator can help you bring this vision to life with their expertise and connections. Maggie Kay Events worked tiredlessly to bring this stunning Bridgerton vision to life!
Don’t forget to incorporate subtle Bridgerton elements like crests, monograms, or even quotes from the show displayed on decorative signs. You can personalize them with your names or photos to tie everything together! Infuse your wedding with playful touches that nod to the show’s signature wit. Create custom wedding stationery with Bridgerton-inspired fonts and monograms like how June Press did here. Perhaps even incorporate a playful quiz about the characters or the show’s plot as an icebreaker for your guests.
Entertainment Fit for a Bridgerton Ball
A string quartet playing classical music will create a sophisticated atmosphere during the ceremony and cocktail hour. As the evening progresses, consider hiring a dance band to get your guests waltzing and twirling, just like they do at a Bridgerton ball. If you’re feeling more inclined to hire a DJ for your big day, include Bridgerton inspired songs to play throughout your day. I actually played the instrumental Bridgerton Soundtrack throughout my own wedding, specifically before the ceremony started as guests arrived!
Another idea is hiring a live wedding portrait painter. We were lucky enough to have one at my wedding. She came before the ceremony started and began the painting. As guests were arriving, they could watch her paint. She continued on throughout cocktail hour and dinner. Guests loved watching her work and bring a special wedding portrait to life that we can hang and keep forever. It makes such a great wedding gift too! Art by Elaina did ours and she was a dream!
Your Bridgerton Inspired Wedding Fairytale Awaits
By incorporating these ideas, you can transform your wedding into a celebration that would have even Lady Whistledown buzzing. Remember, the most important element is to create a day that reflects your unique love story. So, embrace the romance, the elegance, and a touch of Bridgerton flair, and get ready to write your own happily ever after!
