Claire and Dylan’s engagement photoshoot at Clark Lake Park in Washington was so much fun to capture! This is one of my favorite parks so I was beyond excited that they chose me as their Washington engagement photographer! Despite being a last-minute shoot, the couple was so sweet and appreciative of the opportunity to capture this special moment before Dylan’s deployment. They were so in love and grateful to have these photos to look back on, which made the shoot even more meaningful.
Engagement Portraits
The day was absolutely gorgeous, with sunshine and clear skies. Claire and Dylan even brought their pup along, which added a fun and playful element to the shoot! They ended the day by wearing their Rams football jerseys and enjoying a beer, which perfectly represented their personalities and interests!
This engagement photoshoot was a great reminder of the importance of feeling comfortable and being yourself during a photoshoot. Claire and Dylan leaned into the experience, which resulted in beautiful and authentic photos that captured their love and personalities.
If you’re planning an engagement photoshoot, it’s important to bring items that represent you as a couple. Whether it’s a favorite sports jersey, a beloved pet, or a sentimental item, incorporating these elements can make the photoshoot more personal and meaningful. Additionally, choosing a location that holds significance to you as a couple can add an extra layer of sentimentality to the photos!
As a Washington engagement photographer, I often get asked by my clients what they should bring to their engagement photoshoot. While the answer may vary depending on the location and theme of the shoot, there are a few essentials that every couple should consider bringing along.
Jackets and Comfy Shoes
First and foremost, comfortable shoes are a must. Whether you’re planning on walking through a park or exploring the city, you’ll want to make sure you’re wearing shoes that you can move around in easily. If you’re planning on wearing heels or dress shoes for some of the shots, consider bringing a pair of flats or sneakers to change into in between locations!
Not only that but, if it’s a cold day, it’s important to stay warm and comfortable in between photos. Bring a jacket or coat that you can easily slip on and off!
Multiple Outfits
It’s always a good idea to bring multiple outfits to your engagement photoshoot. This will give you the opportunity to switch up your look and add some variety to your photos. Consider bringing a dressy outfit, a casual outfit, and something in between.
Pets
If you have a furry friend that is an important part of your relationship, consider bringing them along for the photoshoot! Pets can add a fun and playful element to your photos. Who doesn’t want a cute pup running around having the time of your life during the shoot? I know I do! Furry friends are more than welcome!
Picnic or Favorite Drink
Bring along a picnic blanket and your favorite drink to enjoy during the photoshoot. This can be a great way to relax and enjoy each other’s company while capturing some beautiful moments! It also helps ease the nerves and provides great candid moments to capture!
Special Props
Props can also be a fun addition to your engagement photoshoot! Whether it’s a bouquet of flowers, a notebook, a favorite book that you read together, a piece of artwork that you created together, or anything else that represents your unique bond. Props can add personality and character to your photos. Just make sure to choose items that are meaningful to you as a couple and that fit with the overall theme of the shoot!
Favorite Activities
If you have a favorite activity that you enjoy doing together, consider incorporating it into your photoshoot. This could be anything from playing a sport to doing a puzzle or painting together.
Your engagement photo shoot is a special moment that should be cherished for years to come. By bringing along items that are meaningful to your relationship, you can create a truly unique and personalized experience!
